Diwali Celebration at Springdale Kids Kingdom & Springdale High School

Celebration of Green Diwali

Students of Springdale High School urged to celebrate Green Diwali this year.

The festival of lights -- Deepavali, or Diwali -- celebrates the victory of good over evil.

The lighting of Diyas on a dark, moonless night signifies the end of all negative things.

This festival, if celebrated in the traditional sense, has little to do with fireworks.

So instead of polluting the environment with them, let us celebrate a 'Green Diwali'.

Students of Class VIII & IX organised a street play promoting Peace and Harmony in this Diwali.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY ON 21ST JUNE 2018

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition.

It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.

Yoga is not just about working out, it’s about a healthy lifestyle. The practice of yoga allows students to find stillness in a world consumed with chaos. Peace and tranquility achieved through focused training appeals to everyone.

Yoga’s deep breathing and meditation practices help foster an inner shift from to-do lists, kids and spouse’s needs, financial concerns, and relationship struggles to something a little bit bigger than the issues you face.

Yoga helps relieve stress and declutters the mind, helping you to become more focused.

Springdale High School, Cinnamara observed the International Yoga Day 2018 with the students and teachers in the school Yoga ground. Even in the midst of the exam, students didn't want to stay away from the lifestyle of Yoga as it had become a good part of their lives. The day was filled with lots of calmness and spiritual blessing. The Yoga teacher guided the teachers and the students with different asanas and meditation and chanting of life Mantra in the mind. They also did Mantra Meditation.

'I AM THE BEST' AT SPRINGDALE HIGH SCHOOL

When Shehnaz ba, the founder and managing trustee of Springdale High School in Jorhat spoke to me a month back inviting me to her school as the Chief Guest, I was more than excited to know about the school.
Shehnaz ba envisioned a happy school full of happy children and staff, for whom she dreamt the world. And that's what she got! Starting in 1991 with a few classes, the school is now 2000 students stronger, happy to be where they are and led by a wonderful human being like Shehnaz ba.
I was more than invigorated to motivate the young participants of the Katha Writers' Workshop during my inaugural address.
My deepest gratitude to all the teachers and especially the principal of the school, who made my short visit to Springdale School, on the first day of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, extremely memorable!
And all the best, my rockstar writers; when you said YOU ARE THE BEST, you truly are the best of the best! There's no one like you!!
