SCIENCE,ART AND CRAFT EXHIBITION:-
Holding an exhibition is a rewarding and educational experience for students, teachers, parents and volunteers. Exposure to art and science educations and exhibitions promotes self-directed learning and sharpens critical and creative skills among the students. Springdale High School organized a Science and art Exhibition. The Chief Guest was Mr. Kamal Gogoi (Inspector of Schools, Jorhat District Circle). The Exhibition started with lightening of diya by the headmaster Mr. Bhrigupati Hazarika and Managing Trustee Mrs. Shahnaz Ahmed.
Students of junior and senior section made beautiful paintings and art sculptors. Science models were amazing which showed students interest in science and activity based learning provided by the school. The art and science models were displayed in beautifully decorated classrooms. The visitors appreciated the creativity of students and their interest in art and craft.
ART AS A FORM OF EDUCATION:
At Springdale High School we ensure that students grow up understanding Creativity and Imagination through learning various Arts & Crafts.
Our school gives emphasis to Art & Craft as a subject of education rather than a hobby or form of extra curricular activity. Art and craft ideas not only encourage children to use their imagination but also helps them in understanding life and nature as a whole!
For example: The reason of leaves being green in colour could be related to Chlorophyll and Photosynthesis connecting them to a bigger subject - Science.
From splashes of vibrant hues, finger paintings, sketching portraits to origami, clay sculpting, flower and doll making; Springdalites are taught how to figure out how to express ideas and concepts visually. Springdale also holds regular Painting, Rangoli, Salad carving and other Art related competitions for students to cultivate a more aesthetic sense.
Creating art expands a child's ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development.
FOR THE PARENTS:Art may seem like fun and games -- and it is! -- but you may not realize that your child is actually learning a lot through exploring the arts and doing art activities. Children will gain useful life skills through art, so it is essential to encourage them to get creative.
"Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life." by Oscar Wilde
"A picture is worth a Thousand words." by Napoleon Bonaparte
A Project on Social Science:-
Social science is an essential part of the framework in a student life. Basic skills of reading, writing, and computing are necessary but not sufficient to survive in a world demanding independent and cooperative problem solving to address complex social, economic, ethical, and personal concerns. Understanding the importance of social science in the student academic area Class III students were given a project on the importance of clothes in their day to day life.
The students with their creativity of art showed the different forms and quality of clothes that we wear during various season and occasion. The involvement of the students showed their creativity along with the knowledge they acquired from the project which will help them to know how to survive a demanding world.
